Help:Safety
From NeoPets Guild
Your safety is important to you, the people who love you and to most of the other people who meet you. So, we're providing some safety suggestions.
NeoPets® also provides some good safety tips.

[edit] Physical Safety
- If you decide to meet someone in person, take another adult with you and meet in a public place. (This applies to adults as well as children.)
- Don't give out information about yourself and your family that would let someone find you, like your school's name or the park where your team will be playing. If someone keeps asking questions about things like that, don't answer and report that person (to NeoPets, to the administrators of this wiki or to your parents). (See more examples of personal identity information .)
[edit] ID Protection
- Never give your password to someone else, no even to an administrator or someone who says they are from the NeoPets team. (Those people would not need to ask for it -- see the next point.) Be careful if the place where you are supposed to type in your password looks funny, check that the Web site address looks like is should. (Some viruses and other tricky code can redirect your browser to a fake site that is trying to capture your password.)
- Use passwords that would be hard to guess. Don't use real words or the names of real people or real pets. If you forget your password (here or on NeoPets), the administrators can reset your password and send you the new one at the e-mail address you gave when you registered.
[edit] Rules for Younger Users
People under 18 are special. So they have special safety rules.
- Stay on the sites that your parents or guardians approve.
- Ask your parents or another adult you trust, if someone you meet on-line makes you uncomfortable.
- (You can also report that person and then ignore him or her.)
- Check with a trusted adult before you spend money on-line.
[edit] Additional Guidelines
The most important thing about these rules is that we use them to try to protect the people who use this site. There are additional guidelines to help users have good experiences here.
