Meercas (meer-ka) are rodent-like Neopets that are notable for their long, flexible tails. As a general rule, these pets are pranksters with a wicked sense of humour, and their small size and dexterity make it easy for them to hide and play tricks on other pets.
On its tail, the Meerca stands at about 79cm, likely making it one of the larger Neopets.[1]
Meercas are not limited edition, meaning they can be created year-round.
Site description: "As certified masters of mischief, Meercas' wicked sense of humour keeps everyone on their toes. With nimble legs and long, flexible tails, they can effortlessly sneak around and play tricks on other Neopets. And when it comes to food, these adorable furballs simply can't resist the taste of Neggs!"[2]

Previous Versions[]
Meercas originally balanced on their tails with an open smile on their faces. Some, not all, had a tail squiggle in their circle pose. Much like the Blumaroo, as of 2007's big update, Meercas have their feet firmly planted on the ground.[3]
Trivia[]
- The Meerca's name comes from a truncation of "meerkat"[4], a small mammal with a penchant for standing up tall, like how Meercas balance up high with their tails.
- Timon[5], a Meerca character from The Darkest Faerie game that was named after the meerkat from The Lion King, may also allude to this.
