Laboratory

The Lab Ray is a laser contained within the Secret Laboratory, which is located deep in the Neopian sea and ran by a mad scientist Scorchio. To get there, one must first collect all 9 pieces of the Secret Laboratory Map and view the Secret Laboratory section of the Treasure Map game.*

Once the Lab Ray is unlocked, the user's pets can be zapped daily. Once zapped, they may change. Beware: Some of the changes may not be the player will like.

*The Petpet Lab Ray can also be unlocked after getting access to the regular Lab Ray. The map for it is cheaper (~10k) and will have similar effects on the user's Petpets.

How to Obtain the Map Pieces[]

Each piece of the Secret Laboratory Map is normally rather expensive; because of this, the Trading Post is generally the best place to start. The entire map can be bought together for around 1.2 million Neopoints, or individually (which will generally save the user a good few Neopoints).

  • They are also available from the Auction House.
  • Some of the cheaper pieces are available through the Shop Wizard.
  • Map pieces may also be found randomly on the floor via RE's.
  • Another great way to get Secret Laboratory map pieces was through Key Quest. They were randomly awarded to players through the vault, often with gold keys.
