Acaras (ak-ah-rah) are semi-aquatic Neopets with thick fur and two horn-like protrusions. They are amphibious (can live on land or in water) and their horns allow them to hear underwater. They are fast swimmers and have a knack for treasure-hunting.
Acara are 41cm (1.35ft) on average, making them one of the smaller Neopets.
They are not limited edition, meaning you can create one any day of the year.
Site description: "Acaras are a playful bunch that love to live by the sea. Their favourite pastimes are diving for hidden treasures off the coastline and playing Gormball on the beach."

When they were first introduced on the site, Acaras were called Tigrens. They sported long, fluffy tails and had large fins instead of ears. In their more spherical second version, Tigrens developed the characteristic horns and ears of the modern-day Acara. Its name was changed on 19 July, in a short lived redesign. The finalized design was much more popular. The artwork update brought small changes to some of the colour designs, and gave it a slightly more dynamic pose and detailed shading.
